On a gorgeous September afternoon, our “It’s a New DAY!” relaunch event celebrated the renaming of DAY and unveiling of eleven new banners featuring Yale staff and students who identify as living with a disability. People from all across the Yale and Greater New Haven community assembled at the Yale School of Management to share a meal and learn about the journey of DAY’s recent name change from DiversAbility at Yale to Disability Alliance at Yale.
Our leaders reiterated the mission and message of DAY and the continuing importance of diversity and disability advocacy at Yale. New bags and swag were provided to attendees, including an extra bag for folks to share with a friend.
A companion virtual relaunch event was held over Zoom, with a slide show celebrating the new name and logo and presentation of the banners.
Special thanks to the DAY Banner Subcommittee, the DAY Relaunch Planning Team, the DAY Steering Committee, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and DAY’s New Haven Community partners. Today is a new DAY!
